Hi.
I am brand new to Suneido (long time Foxpro) and still working through the user manual. Looks Great!
I have a need to download asci strings from a piece of equipment via a 9 pin com port. Does Suneido handle this? I am new to serial communication so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Garry

It is a barcode reader? Generally, these readers act as a PC keyboard (output directly to the stdin), so it is not necessary to communicate at low level with the device.
Anyway I think Suneido doesn't have specific functions to handle serial communication, but you can always add them with Win32 API DLL mapping (take a look at the User's Manual 'Language -> DLL Interface -> Dll').

You may also be able to open com1: with File I have not tried this - it may not work. Also, it does not give you much control over the port.

Thanks for the replies guys. I responed a few days ago but must have done something wrong as it didn't post. Was multitasking and probably forgot to submit.
The device is a piece of medical equipment that records reading from the patient. It broadcasts a constant output which displays on a screen for patient monitoring. When the program iterupts this it switches modes and sents historic data to the computer to be stored and used to produce graphs etc for attending specialists.
Although I have been programming for a long time I have never had the need to use dll's. Will have a bit of a readup on this. Will also see if I can work out how to use File in the way suggested. I have this working in foxpro but just seems like such an overkill.

Thanks Guys.
